The Wedding

So, life got slammed again and I went missing in action! I had to take a lil break from photography and blogging due to the craziness of life. However, I hope to slowly get back into it. All that to say, my first session in awhile, was my very first wedding!

*I AM NOT a wedding photographer! *

However, I let myself get talked into shooting this very special wedding. This was a 2nd wedding of two wonderful people. One of who is a friend of a good friend of mine. Anyways, they did not want "wedding" photos but more of a family session before the wedding, commemorating the joining of two families into one. I didn't do any photos of the actual ceremony just family photos before. Even so, I learned A LOT! I am really glad that I did this as it pushed me way out of my comfort zone. Thankfully, after it looking like horrible weather with no safety cushion of being rescheduled for a few days, it ended up being absolutely gorgeous with perfect light! We were at the beautiful Scarrit Bennet campus so I couldn't have asked for a prettier back drop for which to shoot. The wedding party looked fabulous and so we ended up with a great session! So allow me to show you my first ever "wedding" photos!

Little Sweetheart (Nashville Area Baby, Children, and Infant Photographer)

Oh my word! Have you ever seen such a sweet little darling? She is absolutely the cutest little baby ever! I have been photographing her since she was 6 weeks old and she gets more stinkin cute every time I see her! Her parents are dear friends of ours and I just fall more in love with her every time I see her. For this photo shoot her Mommy let me help design her outfit! She had me send her pictures of a couple different outfits and she picked this one. I of course suggested we needed a hat. It just couldn't have looked any cuter!

All of these pics were taken in under 15 minutes! She and her parents live in Kentucky and came in a few weekends ago during the Nashville monsoon season. We weren't sure we would get any outdoor pics in but we found a 15 minute window of dryness and ran out to get some shots! Here are my favs from our short session:

Sweet Mia (Nashville Area Children, Baby, Family, Infant Photographer)

I recently got to shoot sweet Mia's 6 month pictures. It was my first time meeting her and I was immediately drawn to her beautiful sapphire eyes. I have never seen sapphire eyes in person and they are breathtaking. She was such a good, sweet, baby to photograph. So feminine and pretty! She had the best temperament too. Never fussy. It was so fun to watch her parents with her. It is so obvious that they are smitten with their little girl. They were constantly singing her silly songs and doing silly things to get her to smile. I love capturing those sweet moments! Here are my favorites from our session:

Patience (Nashville Area Family and Children's Photographer)

Well this sweet family has patience in spades! I thank them so much for it too! Shortly after I shot this families photos, I hurt my back and have been out of commission. I just could not sit at the computer for any length of time which made editing their pictures impossible. However, I am on the mend and have finally gotten their pics done! I hope they think it was worth the wait.

This family has a great story as they are leaving the Nashville area to be college missionaries in Pennsylvania! They have never had family photos taken and needed some for the missionary packets and info and also if you ask me, just because. I was so thrilled they asked me to take their photos. They are such a loving sweet family. I adore that the parents are so obviously in love with each other still! Their chemistry and love for their son, made for some great pics.
